What Landowners Can Do Between Field and Lot Mowing to Help Their Land

Between mowing appointments, there’s actually quite a bit you can do to help your land stay in great shape. A little care here and there goes a long way toward keeping things manageable and healthy. Here are a few easy things you can do:
1. Walk Your Land
Take a casual stroll now and then. You’ll catch things early like downed limbs, rocks, or debris that could cause damage later. It also helps you stay familiar with changes in your property.
2. Keep Fencelines Clear
Brush and weeds love to take over fence lines. If you keep those trimmed up or cleared out, it prevents overgrowth and gives us easier access for future mowing.
3. Watch for Erosion
Keep an eye out for washouts, especially after heavy rains. If you spot low spots or gullies starting to form, a little gravel or rerouting water flow can help prevent bigger issues later.
4. Let Us Know About New Projects
If you’re planning to dig, build, or change access paths, let your mowing crew know ahead of time. That way we can adjust our approach and keep your property safe and looking good.
5. Consider Wildlife and Weeds
Keep tabs on invasive weeds or signs of critters digging both can spread fast. Marking problem areas helps us target them when it’s mowing time again.
Taking these small steps can save you money and headaches later. And when we show up to mow, everything runs smoother. Your land will thank you.
